Hello and welcome to our website. I started this website hoping to speak to other mothers that are going through the same misery I am. A child in prison. I have found out that there is no grief besides death that is worse then having my child call me from a prison, depressed and wanting to just come home. Or to go visit him and see the want in his eyes to leave with me. I have found out that justice comes with a price tag. If you have the money for a "real" lawyer, they get to come home. If not, they're gone. I want to see if we can't communicate with each other and maybe even find help for us or someone else. This is my son's first offense. He has to do eight and 1/2 years. He was 20. ( I remember when he couldn't wait for his 21st birthday.) He spent his 21st in jail and now in March he will be 25. The holidays are the worst. He wants to be home for his favorite holidays. He needs to file an 1142. Which is for ineffective councel. But since the attorney was a public defender, and his appeal attorney was a public defender in the same office, they say he has to hire an attorney for the 1142. 10,000 dollars is what his justice price tag is. Attorney says he can get it all thrown out because of the incompetence of his public defender...... for 10,000. Do you have a similiar story? Do you know where there is help?
